Visas and Fees

Tourists can obtain visa on arrival in Nepal (except for some nationalist, see below). You can also get your visa on nearest Nepal Embassy authorities for Diplomatic Mission.

Tourist Visa Fee

* Note: Maximum stay for tourist visa is 150 days in one visa year (Jan 1 to Dec 31)

Visa Requirements:

Valid passport and One passport sized photo

Currency:
US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Euro, Pound Sterling, Swiss Franc, Australian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Japanese Yen and Singapore Dollar. Credit card, Indian currency and Nepali currency are not accepted

Gratis (Free) Visa

SAARC nationalists can obtain gratis visa for 30 days in one visa year (Jan-Dec) and can be extended from Immigration Department.

Indian nationals do not require visa to enter Nepal although must possess any one of the documents like Passport, Driving License (with photo), Ration Card (with Photo), Election Commission Card (with Photo), Identity card issued by Government Agency (with photo) or Identity Card issued by Embassy of India in Kathmandu

No Procedures of Arrival Visa for:

Afghanistan, Swaziland, Somalia, Ethiopia, Palestine, Liberia, Iraq, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and Zimbabwe nationalists DO NOT get arrival visa at any of entry point in Nepal and need to obtain visa prior to arrival at nearest Nepalese embassy or diplomatic mission.
