Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp is rewarding journey through pleasant jungle walk and picturesque villages on the foothill of majestic eight thousand meter high Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks. This trek offers an excellent opportunity to witness the stunning dawn changing colors onto the array of 7000m and 8000m mountaintops from finest viewpoints like Poon Hill (3210m) and ABC (4130m) inlcluding several other places. The best feeling is to watch these same mountains grow bigger on every steps towards Annapurna Base Camp. In addition, different faces of these shy white ice-giants especially Machhapuchere (Mt. Fishtail – 6997m) is truly most impressive.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts with an hour drive from Pokhara valley (820m) and then three hours walk passing through small village settlements and green farmlands on first day. Our ascend continue towards scenic Ghorepani village and then Poon Hill (3210) on the following day to catch a early dawn. In clear morning, three eight-thousanders (Annapurna -8091m, Dhaulagiri – 8167m and Manaslu – 8163m) and their range along with gorgeous sunrise will be awaiting to get captured on your camera or in your memory. We start descending to Choomrong village and enter the valley in between massive Mount Fishtail (6997m) and Hiuchuli Peak (6441m) through dense rhododendron forest, small teahouses and barren rugged terrains leading straight to tower of Annapurna massif bordered by glaciers. Beautiful rhododendron forest walk with fine mountains backdrop is soothing in sunny days of April-May season and the sunrise vista and panoramic full circle view of snow-capped mountains at Annapurna Base Camp is just awesome. Before completion of the trek, we also take dip into natural Hot spring at Jhinu Danda to relax your ached muscles before we retreat to City of Lake – Pokhara Valley.
