Today, 21-June is International Yoga Day

Everything is going fast in our today’s world. Technology has grown, dependency is more. Changing lifestyle’s issue and the changing climate issue. There are tons of things happening around the globe and somehow the balance among these all happening things is started to shudder. We are growing with skills and stress and major element “the balance” between them became necessary for well-being of our mental and physical state.

Yoga helps to reach the utmost balance between the state of inner consciousness of mind and physical body. A restful sublime state of mind to peek yourself in your inner being, to learn more of yourself!

Yoga is an ancient spiritual, physical and mental practice which was originated nearly five millennia ago. The spiritual core and philosophical foundation of Yoga can be found in ancient religious manuscripts and earlier Vedas.

"Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day."

The first International Yoga Day was observed on 21-June (2015).

International Yoga Day is normally celebrated by organizing a small or big event for Yoga and Meditation practice along with programs to raise the awareness about the yoga benefits to health and strengthen the equilibrium state between mind and body. The theme for Yoga Day 2017 is “Yoga for Health” aiming to raise worldwide awareness about health benefits of Yoga.

Yoga is selfless, cleansing, freeing, balancing, inspiring, and joyfully performed actions based on a vision in which one experiences peaceful interconnectedness with all life around them.

— As per the transcribed verse of Hindu’s sacred “Bhagavad Gita”

Yoga was listed as UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage on 01-Dec 2016.
